Navigate to the minecraft home page and click purchase. There are two versions of minecraft. Java edition and Bedrock edition. Java edition is available for PCs and Bedrock edition is available for PCs, consoles and mobile devices. You can join hancraft using any device and either Bedrock or Java. However only Java can be used with mods such as the integrated voice chat and minimap.

Modifying your game always poses some risk and it is not recommended to get mods from any shady sites. Sticking to well known and often used mods on a site like Curseforge is a good way to avoid downloading fake or malicious mods. Remember you don't need any mods to join or enjoy hancraft! To install mods you need a mod loader in addition to a java version of the game. This means you can not run mods on a console or bedrock version of the game. You can still use certain plugins, datapacks, resource packs and some other types of 'modifications' on a bedrock version of minecraft but these have limited capabilities and can't have the same functionality as true mods. The mods above use the forge mod loader which can be aquired here. Just download the installer and run the .jar file. Make sure you install a 'client' not a 'server' version of the program. Now open your minecraft launcher, next to the play button There should be a profile selector, switch from 1.20.2 to Forge 1.20.2 which should have a furnace for an icon. Run minecraft and wait for forge to initialize. after you see the minecraft start page you can click the new 'mods' button and click 'open mods folder'. drag any mod .jar files you download into the folder. Restart your game, if you make it to the start menu you are ready to play!

Hancraft uses BedrockConnect to allow console players to join even though the 'Add Server' option is not available to them.
